Dining Plans

We believe in empowering students to choose a dining plan that best suits their lifestyle and needs while living on campus at UC San Diego. That’s why our dining plans are designed as an a la carte system compared to an all-you-care-to-eat program. Students have control of how to spend their Dining Dollars at nearly 20 residential dining and market locations. Plus, all of our dining plans come with Triton Cash, accepted at more than 60 locations on and off campus. Please visit our Dining Plans Page for more information about our various offerings.

Dining Dollars

Dining Dollars are your dining plan funds. The amount will vary based on your plan selection. They are linked to your campus ID card and are valid at all residential dining and market locations. Each purchase made is automatically deducted from your account balance, similar to a bank debit card. Additional Dining Dollars can be added to your plan at any time throughout the year.

Dining Dollars expire at the end of the following fall quarter of the next academic year. For example, Dining Dollars from academic year 2023-24 will expire at the end of Fall Quarter 2024. Please note that Dining Dollars are non-refundable. They are not transferable to Triton Cash. Fifteen percent of any remaining funds will be donated to the Triton Food Pantry.
