Global Ambassadors Program Overview
Global Ambassadors Program Overview

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Global Ambassador!

The Global Ambassadors Program (GAP) is a summer-long peer mentoring program designed to assist incoming undergraduate international and out-of-state students in acclimating to a new environment and making a smooth transition into university life. GAP Mentors provide friendly support in order to engage our undergraduate non-resident students and help them create solid relationships within the UC San Diego campus. The program will pair 1-2 incoming undergraduate international or out-of-state student with 1 current international or out-of-state student mentor and possibly 1 current domestic student mentor (preferably a CA resident) in order to encourage cross-cultural exploration and create a positive transition process for incoming students. Being a GAP mentor is an unpaid leadership and volunteer opportunity.

GAP Mentors introduce incoming international and out-of-state students to life at UCSD through:

   •  Pre-arrival Communication
   •  Peer Mentoring
   •  Social Gatherings (e.g. GAP Mixer and/or GAP Coffee Cards)
